Missouri Personal Injury Attorney

Welcome to our Missouri personal injury website.  I created this website so injury victims would have a place to find information and ask questions about personal injury law (also known as tort law.)  Our law firm has represented plaintiffs in personal injury cases since its inception.  We are experienced in representing clients who are suffering from serious injuries or from the death of a loved one.  Our lawyers handle serious injury and death cases that result from various types of traumatic events.

Our practice is focused exclusively on personal injury cases.  A significant number of the cases we handle are referred to us by other lawyers and law firms.  Many law firms are not set up to handle serious injury cases.  The cases are expensive to prepare and extremely time consuming.

We feel strongly that in order to achieve great results for our clients, it is imperative to dedicate 100% of our law firm’s time to representing seriously injured accident victims.  Our main goal is to handle your personal injury case in a professional manner, while getting you the compensation you deserve.

Missouri
Personal Injury Cases
The majority of our time is spent in the following Missouri counties and cities:  St. Louis, Kansas City, Columbia, Lake of the Ozarks, Springfield, Independence, Lee's Summit, St. Joseph, O'Fallon, St. Charles, St. Peters, Cape Girardeau, and the surrounding areas.  The practice of personal injury law is a rewarding experience.  It allows our attorneys to help people when they are in need.   Our law firm, comprised of experienced personal injury lawyers, provides free consultations in our office, at your home, or at any other location you choose.

Most of the caseload in our personal injury law firm falls within the following types of injury claims:

                »  Motor vehicle accidents:  including car accidents (auto accidents), truck
                    accidents,  tractor trailer (18 wheeler) accidents, semi accidents,
                    motorcycle accidents, dump truck accidents, garbage truck accidents,
                    commercial motor vehicle accidents, boat accidents (Lake of the
                    Ozarks), and bus accidents;

                »  On the job injuries (workers’ compensation claim and/or 3rd party
                    claim): including construction accidents, crane accidents, roof accidents,
                    and accidents that result from the negligence of a person or company;

                »  Product liability, medical malpractice (negligence), and premises liability;
                    and

                »  Dog bites and dog attacks.

If you are the victim of a traffic crash we will find out if there is automobile liability insurance (auto insurance) available.  The minimum requirement for liability insurance pursuant to Missouri law is 25/50.  This means $25,000.00 in coverage per person and $50,000.00 per occurrence.  Typically the insurance will be with a company like American Family, State Farm, or Geico.

Despite this law, numerous drivers operate their motor vehicles without any insurance.  In this situation, your own automobile liability insurance policy may provide coverage pursuant to Uninsured and/or Underinsured motorist coverage.  We can determine whether you have this coverage after you supply us with a copy of your declaration page.  At this time we will also discuss the issues related to your case and the various ways you can prevent any further medical injuries.

Types of Personal Injuries
The clients we represent are all suffering from serious medical injuries such as traumatic brain injuries (head), spinal cord injuries, eye injuries, wrist injuries, severe tissue damage (burns, cuts, punctures) and/or severely broken bones.  We also represent family members for the wrongful death of a loved one.  A wrongful death case can arise from many different types of situations.  Wrongful death cases are commonly seen in relation to motor vehicle accidents, truck accidents, tractor trailer accidents, medical malpractice, and construction accidents.

Resolution of Your Missouri Injury Case

There are numerous ways to resolve your personal injury case.  This is largely determined on a case by case basis.  The decision has much to do with your preference.  Some of the possibilities are:

            »  File a lawsuit immediately;

            »  Collect the medical records, health information, medical bills, and other
                necessary documents and attempt to settle the case prior to filing the
                lawsuit; and

            »  Attempt to reach a settlement at Mediation.

Most of the time, our law firm files the lawsuit immediately.  Filing the lawsuit moves the case in a forward direction.  We can still attempt to reach a settlement in your case during the litigation process and before the case is actually tried.  Depending on where the lawsuit is filed, the court will typically give you a trial date approximately one to two years out from the filing date.  Our law office will keep you updated on the specific court dates as they become firm.

As you know, this site has been designed as an informative tool for those looking for information on personal injury law.  We update the site regularly and welcome any suggestions that you may have.  We welcome and encourage visitors to ask questions by filling out and submitting the free online contact form.

Steps To Take After A Personal Injury
If you or a loved one has been seriously injured or killed in Missouri, it is extremely important that you contact an experienced Missouri lawyer so he/she can advise you of your rights in relation to the specific personal injury. There are various statutes of limitations depending on the type of injury case in question.

The auto insurance companies have experienced attorneys and investigators working hard on their side.  You are entitled to the same aggressive representation from an experienced Missouri personal injury lawyer.

Our law firm understands monetary compensation will never replace your loved one or make you completely better.  However, many times the wrongful death or serious personal injury of a family member can leave loved ones with huge expenses.  An experienced injury lawyer will help recover the damages you are entitled to.  The damages may include pain, suffering, medical bills, funeral expenses, the loss of past earnings, future earnings, and other benefits.

My Auto Accident Occurred In A Different State

If your case is outside of Missouri, our law firm will work with local counsel to obtain the compensation you deserve.  There are attorneys across the United States that are willing to work with our law firm as local counsel.  A few of these locations include Georgia (Atlanta),  Florida, Colorado, Michigan, Illinois (cook county), California (Los Angeles, San Diego, Orange County), Hawaii, Massachusetts, Maryland, Nevada, Indiana, Texas (Dallas), Louisiana (Baton Rouge), Iowa, Alabama.

My Case Is Not A Personal Injury Case
If your case deals with something other than personal injury, our lawyers will be able to help find you an attorney that handles that specific type of case.  I am often asked to recommend a criminal defense lawyer for criminal cases, an employment lawyer for employment cases, a family law attorney for a divorce or custody case, a dui lawyer for driving under the influence cases, a tax lawyer for tax related cases.  Because of the requests, I have created a lawyer directory of referring attorneys.  Please feel free to ask us for a recommendation.  We will help you find a lawyer who does exactly what you need.
